Choose whether to use internet-based on-going validation, or lock the software to the computer it is installed on.

Internet-based validation

If your computer is normally connected to the internet, it is best to keep validating through the internet, since this allows you to reinstall the software easily, on the same, or a different machine.

In that case, make sure your internet connection is on and working, and the license will automatically be registered on the Copyminder server.

Locking to the machine

This is most suitable if the computer is not normally connected to the internet or if your firewall prevents two-way communication with the Copyminder web site.

The main problem is that you can only reinstall the software onto the same or another computer by phoning Gate Seven first.

There are three ways of doing this:

  1. Phone Gate Seven on +44 (0) 20 7613 0396 during normal working hours, or email and ask for the License server to be set to lock the license to the machine, then connect the machine to the internet, and run the setup programme.
  2. If you have access to another computer which is connected to the internet disconnect the computer you are installing to  from the internet, then run the setup programme, and select manual installation when asked. You will be given an installation code.
Navigate on the other computer to  http://www.copyminder,com/activate.php
You will be asked for the product serial number and the installation code. Enter these, click "ok", and you will be returned  an activation code.
Enter this where indicated, and the license will be locked and the setup programme will proceed.
  3. Alternatively, or if you have no internet connection at all, phone Gate Seven (+44 (0)20 7613 0396) during normal working hours and we will do 2. for you - this is usually less convenient than doing it yourself
